Travel to Spain

To enter Spain it is mandatory to hold a valid passport or travel document that verifies identity and is recognized as valid. All information can be consulted on the Ministry of the Interior of Spain website

  • Spain is part of the Schengen Area. Citizens from any State in the European Union and Schengen Area need only a current National Identity Document or Passport.

Visa

For some international attendees a temporary visa might be requiered. This requirement applies to nationals of third countries listed in the list of countries subject to the visa obligation for crossing external borders, unless they hold a valid residence permit or a valid long-term visa issued by another Member State.

  • Consult ANNEX II the Regulation (EU) 2018/1806 of 14 November 2018 for the list of third countries whose nationals are exempt from the requirement to be in possession of a visa when crossing the external borders of the member states for stays of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period.

Check well in advance if you need to apply for a visa. If you require a visa to attend the conference, please consult the website of the Spanish embassy or consulate in your country.
